It has been three and a half years since the end of the Third War and the defeat of the Burning Legions invasion of Azeroth. After thirty years of conflict, the Horde and the Alliance exist in a tenuous peace. In this tumultuous age, however, peace may become just a word faintly remembered. Conspirators scheme to renew the hostilities between the Alliance and Horde. In Lordaeron and Northrend the undead Scourge, under the Lich King Arthas, rules with a skeletal fist, the mortal races fearing the day they renew their assault upon the living.
